Two outdoor sea water swimming pools, and a baby pool are situated on the cliffs overlooking the sea. There is also a covered heated pool for the cooler months.

The beach on the other side of the
promentary is reached either by a
tunnel through the cliff
or via the road
These include Smugglers cove near Carveiro and Sao Raphael near Albufeira.

Sao Raphael
Both the beach and the resort are called after the picturesque church (Nossa Senhora da Rocha - Our Lady of the Rocks), which stands on the headland overlooking the beach. Parts of this church date back to the sixteenth century.
